Great burgers! I love the food. Its a family restaurant feel with a bar attached. It was renovated a few years back, it very nice inside. They have a great bloody mary bar on the weekends. The staff is very nice, but they can be a little slower from time to time, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.
Ole Piper Inn is the quintessential American greasy spoon. The dining area is cafeteria style with booths around the edges, making for very open, no privacy seating. Servers have far too many tables to be able to give attentive service. The Bloody Mary bar is generic at best. Lots to choose from, but in the bottles and containers they were purchased in. It's billed as a greasy spoon and it will not disappoint if that's what you're in the mood for
I've been here a few times, and each time has been a great experience. The food has always come out hot. The Sunday Bloody Mary bar is one of the best around; unique infused vodkas, many different tomato mixes to choose from, and SO MANY goodies to add to your drink- including shrimp! Just expect a waiting list for seating. It gets very crowded.
Tasty, fun place. I would describe it at a very large, open bar and not so much of a restaurant. It was surprisingly busy for mid-afternoon. Service was pleasant and, although crowded, it was not too loud to have a normal conversation. The food was surprisingly tasty and appropriately priced – meals start around the $10 mark. Very casual place. I would definitely come back if I were in the area. I probably wouldn’t make a special trip to go, though. For a greasy-spoon type joint, this place deserves a five star rating.
I came into OPI on 10/28/17 with some friends and was seated with one of the WORST servers I've had in a long time. We were told our server's name was Cammy and she was incredibly rude the entire night. Before my party was even seated she approached and rushed us to make a drink order. She then took our order after letting us sit while she checked her makeup in the mirror behind the bar for a solid 15 minutes. Then, she did not provide us with refills for our sodas, and did not check up on us at all. Before we finished eating, we watched her empty her tip bucket onto the table next to us and count out her tips and leave. We were transferred to another server and made to separate our own tab, by hand on pen and paper. When we approached the manager on duty, Jason, we were met with rude remarks of "well what do you want me to do about it?". A very unsettling and annoying experience, will not be returning any time soon..
